FUNDING

If you are looking for information about the Graduate Funding Initiative, click here. This page is meant for Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs) looking for funding from Student Government.

If you are a recognized student organization, there are many ways to get money for events, capital, and other expenditures. An affiliation with a corporate sponsor, national organization, academic division, or good old fashioned fundraising are often effective uses to fund projects on campus.

In addition, the University sets aside a certain portion of the Student Activities Fee (check your tuition bill—it's there) for student events. They can be found in three main pots.

SGFC

The Student Government Finance Committee is a seven member board of SG representatives that meet weekly throughout the year to hear budgets from RSOs. Before you apply for money for SGFC, please read the guidelines! No budgets falling outside these guidelines will be given funds.

ANNAL

The Annual Allocations committee is a seven member group that meets for one week in the Spring to decide budgets for the following year. AnnAl only funds annual events that have been done before, or events that occur in early Fall, before the first SGFC meeting convenes. All AnnAl budgets must adhere to SGFC guidelines.

SUMMERFUND

The Summer fund is a small pot of money that is given to RSOs by the executive slate. All summer fund events and expenses must be for use during the Summer, or at the very beginning of the Fall, before SGFC convenes. All Summer budgets must adhere to the SGFC guidelines.

Budgets are approved biweekly and must be submitted to your RSO Advisor by the previous Friday to be considered for approval. Funding decisions will be made one week after submission so your event must take place at least a week after the submission date.

The deadlines for submissions are as follows: July 20th, August 3rd, August 17th, August 31st.
